Company Overview

Founded by creators of the very first Contract Medical Organization (CMO) in 1997, The Medical Affairs Company (TMAC) has quickly emerged as the leading provider of strategically aligned and customized MSL programs. TMAC's leadership team has tremendous expertise within the medical affairs sector, each member possessing on average nearly 20 years of industry knowledge and experience gained from both the industry and client service sides.

TMAC's executives evolved the original CMO concept to include a broader range of medical affairs services that utilize the latest technologies and are available in turn-key as well as consultative formats, all within a value-based model.

The team's clients included 8 of the 10 top pharmaceutical companies, and many other pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies ranging in size. The team initiated, expanded and optimized close to 100 MSL teams; hired, trained and deployed more than 1,500 MSLs; and executed over 75 training and compliance programs.

Evan Demestihas, MD, RPh

Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Demestihas is CEO of TMAC, the pharmaceutical industry's leading Contract Medical Organization. Dr. Demestihas is a 25-year veteran of the pharmaceutical industry, having held prior executive positions in medical affairs and business development with Bristol-Myers Squibb, Sandoz Pharmaceuticals, and Solvay Pharmaceuticals. In 1997, he established Science Oriented Solutions (SOS), the pharmaceutical industry's first Contract Medical Organization (CMO) and headed up that company for 11 years.

Dr. Demestihas earned his MD from The State University of New York at Buffalo, School of Medicine, and a B.S. in Pharmacy from Long Island University, Schwartz College of Pharmacy, in Brooklyn, New York. He has served on the Board of Visitors at the Mercer University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences since 2000 and is on the adjunct faculty. He holds membership in numerous professional organizations including the American Medical Association, American Pharmaceutical Association, Royal Society of Medicine, and American College of Physician Executives.

David Hahn

Chief Operating Officer

David Hahn is responsible for all internal business operations within TMAC. His functions include developing pricing proposals, reviewing client contracts, and leading contract negotiations. In addition, he is an integral part of developing and maintaining client relationships. He oversees an excellent management team that has day to day responsibilities for: Finance, IT, Medical Communications, and our Strategic Partnerships.

Prior to joining TMAC, David held several executive level positions within the healthcare communications industry over a 15 year period. Most recently, he served as COO of Science Oriented Solutions. In over 15 years of experience, David served in COO and CFO positions with responsibility for businesses in advertising, medical education, public relations, and contract sales. Prior to executive level roles, David spent several years in Corporate Finance working in acquisitions and initial public offerings. David holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance with a minor in Marketing from Seton Hall University.

Kyle P. Kennedy

Managing Director

Kyle P. Kennedy is Managing Director of TMAC and has over eighteen years of experience with various health care providers, the last six with Science Oriented Solutions (SOS). As Executive Vice President, at SOS, Kyle was primarily responsible for identifying the needs of existing and potential Medical Science Liaison (MSL) clients, developing solutions, overseeing MSL programs, vice presidents and directors, and maintaining SOS-client relationships.

Kyle's MSL management experience encompasses a number of specialty therapeutic areas, spanning activities occurring in the pre-launch, peri-launch and commercialization phases. This experience, coupled with Kyle's intimate knowledge of the MSL position, enables him to identify healthcare professionals possessing the critical skill sets necessary for excelling as a MSL. Kyle has held several management positions in pharmaceutical field sales and Medical Affairs including District Manager, Regional Business Director and Manager of MSL Programs. He gained his breadth of experience over a 12-year period at Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Kyle has experience in numerous therapeutic areas including pain, cardiovascular, endocrinology, gastroenterology, psychiatry, neurology, rheumatology, urology, respiratory and virology.

Kyle has been asked to speak at numerous conferences over his career on Field-based medical teams. Most recently Kyle spoke at the 2007 Spring Drug Information Association meeting on communicating value of Field-based medical teams.

Beth Price

Executive Vice President

Beth Price is the Executive Vice President of Business Development at The Medical Affairs Company LLC (TMAC). Beth Price is a primary force behind business development and customer service for all TMAC clients. One of her key responsibilities is identifying medical/marketing needs of new and existing clients to ensure that TMAC outsourced programs are strategically aligned with the business objectives of the client company. Beth excels at exploring new and innovative solutions to support and enhance companies' existing Medical Affairs programs, by realigning existing Medical Science Liaison (MSL) teams or creating complementary services. Beth has over 16 years experience within the pharmaceutical industry, the past ten focused within the Contract Medical Affairs sector.

Prior to joining TMAC, Beth was Executive Vice President at SOS and for over 10 years was paramount to evolving and contributing to the success of the company. She helped secure more than 75 new clients and enhanced client relationships by providing invaluable insight and support. In addition, Beth held a number of management positions within the healthcare communications industry providing pharmaceutical and biotech clients with strategic marketing solutions. Beth is a renowned speaker on topics related to outsourced Medical Affairs, often conducting workshops and presentations at industry meetings and conferences. Beth graduated with Dean's List honors from Arizona State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications.

Jennifer King

Executive Vice President

Jennifer King is the Executive Vice President of Human Resources and Operations at TMAC. Jennifer is responsible for establishing, implementing and enforcing policies, procedures and processes to ensure that the operational and strategic needs of the organization are met and in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations. She oversees and manages the operations team, consisting of administrative support, human resources and recruiting, which provides strategic and tactical support activities for all other company departments.

Before joining TMAC, Jennifer held the position of Vice President of Operations at SOS. Prior to SOS she worked as Director of Human Resources for SCIENS WorldWide supporting a variety of healthcare communications units across advertising, public relations, and medical education. Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration & Marketing from Fordham University, in New York, and is an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
